And is it wrong to be worried about a player?

Hi, fallenlilangel, Thanks for the info. It reaffirms what I presumed, that everything is okay as I hoped it woukd be. If you noticed in my earlier posts within the thread, I *did* indicate that I was NOT trying to start any rumors or gossip. I am a very dedicated fan of Christian's - as everyone here knows - and mean NO disrespect. As a loyal fan, and knowing what a nice person he is, I was merely concerned out of wellbeing and with nothing but GOOD intentions. Thanks. CarrollsMine99.

It is really sweet that you are worried Carollsmine. I am sure you had all the right intentions. And I can understand why you are so smitten. Christian is HOT. Sizzling. There probably are a lot of women waiting for the ring to disappear.

many of us here think it is really wonderful how "our guys" are so loyal and true to their families. For instance, I find it absolutely wonderful how strong Tedy Bs wife Heidi is, how strong their marriage is, and how much of a couple they are. I loved that she featured strongly in his book. It makes them human to us. Carrollsmine has ALWAYS spoken highly of the MAN that Christian is, not just the player, but who he is as a person. Part of that is the dedication to his family. It is part of what makes some of us fans. A guy can be awesome on the field, and a jerk to his wife, and most of us wouldnt like him. I think maybe you misinterpreted the post. And I sure hope no one thinks *I* am out to snare Tedy Bruschi just because I would be concerned if I saw his ring suddenly disappear. I would worry about him, about Heidi, and about their kids. Luckily, I dont think that will ever happen. I hope someday to see him doing sports analysis, and Heidi to be right there beside him, old and gray.

1TruPatriot...you completely took the words right out of my mouth. As someone who knows Heidi and Tedy, I refrained from posting a response because I didn't want to get involved. But I 100% agree with you. I think that's why the Patriots organization is so loved by its players- because family is #1 and respected by the owners, coaches, and fellow players. It is also something that a fan can look to and respect.
Tedy made sure that the true hero of his book was and is Heidi. He wasn't hesitant to share personal conversations and stories in his book because he knew it was the aspect of his life that everyone can relate to. You may not know how it feels to have a stroke at 31 or be hit by a 300 lb man on the field, but everyone has family experiences and it's something that makes him more human in his book and in his life. He is the true definition of a family man and it's one of the reasons I'm inspired by him daily.
Thank you, 1TruPatriot. Your words are VERY much appreciated.

Oh...and I've totally teased him that he wrote a love story/romance novel and not a sports book! He gets a kick out of it and told me Heidi did too. hahaha

well thanks. This world is petty enough without us going at one another for caring about each other. I am a football fan way down deep in my bones, and a big part of that comes from growing up for a few years in Attleboro, Mass. My Grandfather talked to me about football, my dad did too. Even they (men) used the players as role models, family men that deserved our respect. I dont want some young punk guy out there, with a new girl on his arm every week, running his mouth. I want to know that I am spending my time watching good and decent men, supporting them with my few dollars, teaching my kids to be players AFTER they are men. I loved the book for the same reasons. I hafta admit, I became a heidi fan the day tedy got out of the hospital. The media swarm was there, like vultures, and she just took him by the arm, faced them down, put a hand up as if to say "BACK OFF!" and took him home to start the process of healing. I was so impressed with her strength, and when I read even more about it in the book, I felt really honored to have been a Bruschi fan before the stroke, before he was this famous representative, when he was just "our Tedy". I would love to meet them someday, they inspire me. For now, we just all wear our number 54s with pride. Maybe someday...

I completely agree. COMPLETELY. I'm so happy that I invest my time and money in a team that, for the majority, is made up of respectful family men. And on a personal note- for a girl whose father wasn't the best example of the male gender- I feel INCREDIBLY blessed that Tedy was placed in my life to show me what a real man is and how one should treat his wife and children. Heidi has a true presence in person and the two of them together are amazing (and so cute!). She is such an example of strength and he's been very open about telling me she is the reason he is where he is, she is the hero of "Never Give Up", as well as his personal hero. I hope you do get the chance to meet the two of them one day! They are two inspirational, amazing people who renewed my faith in true love/marriage. and PS- Thanks for getting the book! Did you attend any of his signings?

I know I'm kind of interrupting here, but I just thought I'd give my own kudos to Tedy family-man wise. As I've mentioned here before, I was a late bloomer to Tedy fandom, not really getting "hooked" on him till the 2004 postseason. Therefore, one of my first memories of him was when they showed him playing with his kids on the field before the SB. He is soo adorable with them! And I must confess I haven't read the book yet, but Heidi sounds pretty awesome. She is so not a trophy wife...ya gotta respect that.

gopats...no. I live in the middle of Maine. I have been SO blessed to attend one preseason scrimmage though, although it was during his absence so I was kinda bummed. My best friend and kids STILL talk about that day, just being in the stadium, it was really amazing. We were just talking the other day about the new patriot Place thing, wow...cant WAIT to come down for that sometime. We went to a little diner near the stadium (kids gameroom inside?) and the waitress saw all our TB shirts and told us he comes with his kids and which table he likes etc...we HAD to sit there of course. And she told us about other families that come in from the team...kinda cool. I think sometimes as a fan you feel "outside" of it all, especially living here in Maine. But it was really kinda cool to be in the presence of these guys. Ive been a fan since I was 6 years old. It feels a lot like a dream come true to even just stand in that stadium. And my littlest (who has Down syndrome) got an autograph by Adam V...his last year..kinda cool. Someday I will take a trip for a book signing, but they are usually SO expensive. I will need a new book too, mine got passed around to all the coaches in my sons league this year...geez...dog eared.
