As y'all know, I went to the Twin Cities last Thursday and stayed until Monday night - first off, what a wonderful place to be. I absolutely loved the Twin Cities and surrounding areas.
On Friday I was scheduled to start all my Office of Admissions stuff at 12:30.
However, at 10am my coach called my aunt's cell phone looking for me. I recognized his number and answered the phone.
First thing he said: "What are you doing today between 12noon and 2pm?" I responded, "Well, that would be when I'm scheduled to do most of my campus visit stuff. Why?"
He replied: "The Department of Football Offices wants to see you at any time between those two hours."
I responded, totally floored, with a very articulate, well-thought out response: "What?"
My coach then said: "I just had two lengthy conversations with their recruiting department about you - they want you to come in."
I was in some state of shock, but I started asking for names and contact numbers.
I got the number of the recruiting person he was talking too (one of the higher ups).
I called her, and I called my admissions counselor. We arranged to re-schedule my Office of Admissions stuff til later in the afternoon.
I headed over to the Football offices and got there about 10 minutes early. I met the person and was given a Prospect Card to fill out - all recruits do that.
I filled it out, then talked to the person some more. She was acting very interested in me, and that is what my coach had been telling me, that it sounded like the school wanted to give me a shot.
I was invited to attend the Football recruit reception the next day right before kick-off of the big game against Wisconsin - I was also invited to attend the game, so my aunt and I accepted.
I was given a tour of all the football facilities - they are awesome.
The next day I spoke with more people at the recruiting office whilst attending the reception.
At the football game, the other recruits and myself were all down on the sideline up until kickoff, hanging out with staff members, players, and coaches.
Our seats were 4 rows up from the 40 yard-line - extremely good seats.
After the game I met with one of the recruiting persons, who told me that they would be getting in touch with me shortly and also told me the few things I should do as a next step.
At any rate, I'm officially being 'courted' to play football for a Big 10 school now!
