I shouldn't be surprised after Tedy gave us 13 awesome seasons as a Patriot, but I must say that I'm shocked and very sad tonight. There is so much to say about Tedy Bruschi that I don't know where to begin. I'll sleep on it and let the anoucement become official at 10:45am est. Monday morning. I will say this though... Thanks Tedy! Thanks for all the memories. My favorite memory from my favorite player... Tedy's interception against the Dolphins in which he walked it into the endzone for a touchdown in a snowy Foxboro. Everyone started (including Tedy) throwing snow into the air. sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=4433305

football will never be the same for me. I was watching the game the other night, and kept looking for him, and saw just a quick flash of him on the field...smiling. I actually said out loud "there you are!" but in my heart I felt like we had witnessed the end of something great. Tedy is not just another football player. He personifies sportsmanship in my mind. I will be so sad to see him go, so excited to see what is next, so absolutely horrified that I never got to see him play in a game...this was sposta be the year...and so honored to have been a fan of a legend. whatever he does, he will always have my respect, and the team will ALWAYS be one man shy.

Thinking of all of the Bruschi fans here (I'm one too). What a wonderful career and a genuinely good person! Tremendous words by Belichick; great to see him so genuinely emotional... ;D I'm trying to trend this topic on Twitter today. I'm the first person to tag with #ThankYouTedyBruschi54 Here's the message I am using: @smee81 " #Patriots fans, stroke survivors, anyone afftected for the better by Tedy Bruschi, the person & player, tag w/ #ThankYouTedyBruschi54 RT " We LOVE and we THANK YOU, Tedy! ;D God Bless You... An appreciative, CarrollsMine99.

Not ashamed to say I cried my eyes out watching the press conference. I have no doubt that Tedy knows best but man, I will miss him so much. Great player, team leader, loving and generous human being. It doesn't get any better than Tedy B. I am so proud of him.
with love and best wishes always,
TEDYBR

I saw this just a couple hours after re-hanging the photo of him in my dorm room. Major bummer that he's going to be gone. I'm not gonna lie, I wanted to see him win another ring since I never really even got into football until the '04 playoffs. Thanks for making football awesome Tedy. You will always have our love and respect for the man you are and all you have done. 54 Forever!

You know your a great player when you announce your retirement and Coach Belichick actually gets choked up. That never happens. Kudos to you Tedy for your amazing career and beating the odds to come back and play after going through so much. You were the player that made me beyond proud to be a fan of this team. The team will never be the same without you. You were the reason I loved watching the defense play. You were always so amazing and always managed to make me smile during games. While your retirement breaks my heart I know this is truly what you want, so good luck to you in the future and thank you for 13 amazing season. We will always miss you. =(

Thank you tedy for everything, for helping make the patriots so much more than a football team, for being a wonderful example of sportsmanship and hard work for young athletes, for playing your heart out for our Patriot team for 13 seasons. I thot I would have one more year of seeing 54 running our d, I'm glad I saw the last preseason game. We will miss you, I will always wear 54 with great pride. Full tilt, full time, forever.
