Well, after that clutch come from behind victory yesterday against Miami, Green Bay failed to put the Jets away for us.... Don't know about you, but I wasn't ready to pack away the tailgate supplies for another year just yet! Here's hoping that Tedy can fully recover from his injury and will be back in FTFT form soon! I missed seeing him out there each week... and I think many people found out what a force he is and how much he contributes to this team. Karen

Hi Karen I've been visiting both your site & Zip's for the past couple of months and wanted to say THANKS for all the great Pats info you two have provided!! I love Tedy - I think he's amazing and I really think the team would've fared better if he had been in those last few games. I get fired up just watching him; I can imagine what effect he has on the rest of those guys

I agree.... I hope that they all take care of themselves and get back in true form for next season! I know that I for one, am tightening up my diet (so I'll be on the wagon now that football season is done) and will be hitting the gym big time!
Karen <------ still 29!! hehehe!!

DITTO!!! I'm usually pretty health-conscious with my eating, but it doesn't take long for the holidays to screw with that lol I definitely need to get more exercise. I used to use weights for my upper body. I haven't used them in awhile, but plan to go back to them soon. Right now my priority is to get off the sugar. I'm usually sugar-free, but, you know.......christmas cookies.... baking every day.....etc.... The last few days have been good, so I'm feeling better already. I have to say, it's inspiring to keep in mind how hard our guys work to stay in shape. Good motivation

Taylor,
I hear ya about the sugar! I generally stay away from it too. Christmas pastry....UGH! Tailgating is tough on me too..... Not that I drink a lot at the games (especially in the winter) but it kills me to eat right all week, then blow it on Sunday.....
As for working out, I especially love the summer because I don't work. I run at least 4 times a week first thing in the morning and it's a great way to start the day. It's harder now, because I prefer to run outside. I do get on the treadmill, but not nearly as much as I should.
I usually lift weights 3 or 4 times a week and didn't miss a workout all year until this fall... going back to school and all of the kids' obligations made it hard for me to be consistent. Now that football is done though, I'll get back on track.
I hit the whole body if I don't miss... 1 day for each workout... shoulders/back, quads/glutes/abs , arms/chest, and then hamstrings/calves/abs. One of the cops set me up and I lift at the police station.... I alternate two different workouts on a weekly basis.
I've been so bad about getting there since Thanksgiving... Not looking forward to that soreness next week (especially that lower body, where you have to grab the wall to help you sit down!! YIKES!)
Sometimes I wish I were in the fitness business, and it was part of my job, instead of something that I have to squeeze into my schedule on top of everything else in my life! I love working out and don't need motivation... just time!
You Go Girl! Karen <----who'll soon be feeling the burn!

Sounds like you have a pretty good workout schedule. I like to walk, but it gets dark so early now, there isn’t much time after work. (the days are getting longer now, though). I do like to walk early in the morning on Saturdays & Sundays. It’s also nice and quiet out at that time of day, and the air is cleaner.
I also have a mini-trampoline that I use year-round. I have not used it consistently for a few months – so hard to get back into the habit! But I like to go to bed earlier in the fall & winter, so that cuts out more time right there.
I do stretch every day; I’d go crazy if I didn’t.
That’s cool that you get to lift at the police station. I know what you mean about the soreness, although, in a strange way, it also feels good – like it’s a reminder that you worked your muscles.
I love working out once I’m doing it, but sometimes I think I convince myself that I don’t have the energy. I truly had a bad problem with that for a long time....until my no-sugar lifestyle. It makes all the difference to me!
