Patriots LB Bruschi added to Pro Bowl squad
NFL.com wire reports
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Feb. 1, 2005) -- New England Patriots linebacker Tedy Bruschi was added to the Pro Bowl roster for the first time, replacing injured Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis.
Bruschi is the fifth Patriots player on the AFC roster, joining Tom Brady, Larry Izzo, Richard Seymour and Adam Vinatieri for the Feb. 13 game in Hawaii.
Bruschi, 31, is a nine-year veteran who was selected as the AFC's Defensive Player of the Week three times, including the first-round playoff victory over the Indianapolis Colts. A second team Associated Press All-Pro selection, he ranked second on the team with 128 tackles and tied for second with three interceptions.
Two of the Patriots' four defensive touchdowns resulted from his fumbles.

WOOHOOOO!!! I read it last night around 8:30 but wasn't home to post it until later in the night...(thanks Caty!) Although Tedy says he doesn't care about individual accolades I'm so happy for him because he deserves it! Jeez.... since I don't have a ticket to the SuperBowl maybe I should cancel and head to Hawaii instead... shouldn't be a problem getting a ticket to that one!

i watch it every year. last year brings bad memories though - i went to my friend's dad's house the night before and slept over, and got horribly sick during the night but waited till morning to go home. still felt horrible during the game, so i don't remember much of it. the only thing i remember are our three guys coming out together - as superbowl champs and a TEAM! ;D

Donnie Edwards deserved to go to the Pro Bowl before Bruschi. Donnie had a much better statistical season than Bruschi. What a crock.

Wow.
Donnie Edwards had a good season and his "stats" are quite similar to Tedys.
155 to Tedys 122 mind you that Edwards was the only one on his team over 100 and on the Pats Rodney Harrison had 138, the Pats have a bunch more players that contribute(meaning that someone different steps up each game) so that in itself is pretty darn good.
1 sack to Tedys 3.5 5 int to Tedys 3 Tedy had a few forced fumbles
The BIG thing is that Tedy is consistent, got a few weekly Defensive awards and continues to make big plays and help his team reach the Super Bowl(watch the two recent playoff games). Donnie did good, but by far Tedy deserved to go and I'm glad he's going(even tho we all know he wants the ring more). While the player you think should be there is watching the Super Bowl from his house rather than playing in it.
Yes, it's my opinion. There are a lot of players deserving to go to the Pro Bowl(Harrison and Dillon), but not everyone can get in cuz I would have to say that the players selected deserve it too. I think about 90% of New England fans could care less about the Pro Bowl and Indiv. acheivments compared to winning the Super Bowl, but I must say Tedy deserves to be there.
