Tedy, you are everything that I love about my team, the New England Patriots.
My computer screen is a copy of the picture of you sliding on your knees in the snowy endzone after intercepting the pass from Fiedler in the Miami game in December 2003. That's still probably the most amazing play I've ever seen on a football field.
Please know that no matter what your future holds, you will always be admired by fans like me.
I sincerely hope that you'll be able to play again since I know from watching you all these years how much you love this game and being a Patriot. If you are faced with making a choice between your future health and playing again, I would encourage you to chose your health first. The fans like me would rather you do what's best for yourself and family. You have given us some many wonderful memories and I hope you won't be faced with a choice, that you'll be given the green light to play, but serve your family first and the fans will still hold you in the greatest of esteem.
All the best to you and thanks for so many years of great football.

#54 In a time when so many things are wrong about sports, you are what is right! Too bad EVERY athlete didnt have your attitude (hehe AND your rings!!!). YOU are what changed the Patriots players' mindsets from "losing is ok" to "TEAM" Thanks Ted and good luck

While you're on the mend, here's a special extra-cheesy Waxpoof* just for you! ;D "We Love Bruschi", based on "I Love Lucy" (and yes, it did have words - I dimly remember the episode despite not having seen it in years!): ---------------------------------------------------------------------- There's a certain player that I know. A man of few words, Loved to see him stomp the Birds. He's a guy who gives the world a show. Ev'ry Sunday He makes a play We Love Bruschi and he loves we, We're as happy as fans can be, some of us are in Japan or Maryland How we love our Arizonan. Bruschi kicks asp ;D like no one can, He's the "frontschi" for our rock band; Foxboro's heaven you see Cause we Love Bruschi Yes we Love Bruschi and Bruschi loves we. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- *A long-standing tradition, begun when I was a Usenet junkie, of crafting song spoofs having to do with the Pats (It's fun to be lame ;D) BTW, Waxy is the wacky childlike Alter-Eggo-Waffle of a bum in MD who's suffered with the team since '86, so there!

Get well soon, guy. I don't like the Patriots, but you seem like a great human being. Keep on living your life, with or without football. Your kids need you more than your fans do.

The D was a 3-4. The D line Wyman, Peter and Sullivan.
The O line was unusual, with a 2 tight end set having Griffin and Purnell, bookending Irwin, Elmore and Conrad.
Because there was no QB, the scoring fell to the RBs, Barber and Grier.
You know why there was no QB Tedy.
Remember that first game? It was a scorcher down in Miami...and then we lost. We lost the last game too...but at least it was the Super Bowl.
There's that split second when you decide whether to yell to the guys, run, run, run or...well you know.
The past is history. Tomorrow is the future. Today is a gift...that's why we call it the present. Elinor Roosevelt

Tedy, I am a fellow U of A alumnus who attended UA while you did and have been Bruschi fan since '91-'92. My family and the entire city of Tucson are hoping that you have a full and speedy recovery. You are a true inspiration to us all and have proven that a guy with the biggest heart on the field can make a difference. You are the glue that binds the Pats defense, just as you were at the U of A.
Get well soon, sincerely, wildcatrob

If laughter is truly the best medicine, please read on! Being creative and somewhat eccentric, I started a tradition of sorts with SB XXXI. Each time the Pats make it to the SB, I buy a cheap stuffed animal and make a uniform for it, thus creating an effigy of a key opposing player. I used the first one as a 'voodoo doll', naturally to no avail, but since then they've just been a way to make my SB memories uniquely mine. Here's a link to the 'group photo' I took of them www.geocities.com/waxpats/SBEffigies.html(Sorry for the poor image quality; someday I'll get around to buying a GOOD digital camera...)

I'm a 61 year old man, who's been a Patriots fan since the team was created in 1960. In all of those years, before and since the Patriots came along, I've never seen a professional athlete who I respected more as both a player and a person than you, Tedy. You're Full Tilt, Full Time on and off the field, to fellow players, fans, and, most importantly, your family. They need you. We all love you. Get well soon, and do what is best for them. Not quite as old, but close, my wife and I wish you and your family well. One of my favorite #54 moments was the TC after the first Superbowl at Bryant. The team did a sprint towards the bleachers, and there you were in the lead arms outstretched. That is how I remember you on the field, you are a great man the epitome of this organization. Do what is best for you and your family. Get well.
